Dear Friends,

I want to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who supported me in reaching my goal of walking 150 km during the month of September to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society. Whether you chose to donate, shared words of encouragement, followed my progress, or simply kept this cause in your thoughts, your support meant more than I can express. Every step I took was inspired by the generosity, kindness, and compassion of people like you.

Together, we have contributed to a cause that touches so many lives and brings hope to individuals and families facing cancer. Thank you for walking this journey with me. Your support helped turn a personal challenge into something much more meaningful.

As promised, the tax receipt for my donation has been posted on the Pictures & Videos page of the website for anyone who wishes to view it.

With gratitude,

Laszlo

I set myself a goal of walking 150 km throughout September, finishing on October 4 in support of the CIBC Run for the Cure fundraising event on October 4, 2026, starting at the University of Toronto, St. George Campus ground, 27 King's College Circle. Participants - breast cancer survivors, family members, donors and supporters walk/run a 5 km route along Spadina Ave finishing back at the campus ground.

I’m looking for supporters, and for each supporter I receive, I’ll also donate $25 of my own money to breast cancer research, up to $1,000.

I am not asking anyone to donate; the decision is entirely yours. Thank you if you choose to do so.

My only goal is to have as many names as possible in the ‘Add comment’ section of my 'Blogs' page and I’ll put my own $25 to each supporter. If 40 people sign on, I’ll reach my $1,000 goal, all of it coming from my very first CPP cheque.

It is a meaningful way toward something good. Pending on the number of supporters in the list, I’ll make the lump sum donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in the morning of October 4th,latest. I’ll post the tax receipt for everyone to see as soon as I get it.

If you do wish to donate, click Donate today at the bottom of the Blogs webpage. The Canadian Cancer Society website will open in a new tab. Click Donate in the upper right corner and select Make a general donation. You will receive a tax receipt in your email’s Inbox.

In the ‘Pictures & Videos’ page I posted a screen shot of my phone’s Home screen and Health application screen showing the date and time at the start & end of the walk, respectively the number of steps at the end of the walk.

Basically, 3 steps (STEPS) equal 2.3 meters or 0.0023 km (BASE). The walked distance is:
BASE (km) X  NR of STEPS / STEPS
Example - for a walking of 10,000 steps the distance is:
0.0023 x 10,000/3=7.6 km

The actual walked distance data is from Google Maps:

39,415 steps - 30.2 km on August 29, 2026, between 7.08 AM - 1.38 PM

10,491 steps - 8.0 km on August 31, 2026, between 11.57 AM - 1.30 PM

11,004 steps - 8.4 km on September 3, 2026, between 10.36 AM – 12.14 PM

36,174 steps - 27.7 km on September 5, 2026, between 7.15 AM – 9.18 PM (the actual end time was 1.08 PM as I forgot to take a screen shot at the end)

 26,181 steps - 20.0 km on September 12, 2026, between 7.17 AM – 11.58 AM

33,994 steps - 26.0 km On September 19, 2026, between 7.20 AM - 1.07 PM

11,119 steps - 8.4 km on September 21, 2026, between 3.49 PM - 5.29 PM

10,824 steps - 8.0 km on September 24, 2026, between 3.48 PM - 5.37 PM

12,513 steps - 9.6 km on September  26, 2026, between 3.51 PM - 5.34 PM

11,306 steps - 8.6 km on September 27, 2026, between 3.07 PM - 4.39 PM

18,442 steps - 13.8 km on October 3, 2026, between 7.08 AM - 10.02 AM

So far, I walked a total distance of 168.7 km
